Headshots can be exciting!

In the past week, I've had opportunities to promote my little blog that I was so excited to birth in the fall of 2010. The same blog I've completely neglected these past three months. Whoops!

I did check off something on my to-do list. I had headshots taken! I plan to have business cards printed soon and launch a separate website for my freelance work.

It was fun to have a photo shoot! A friend of mine mentioned recently that everyone should have a personal photo shoot. She had just finished one in NYC, against fantastic cityscapes, and she looked so fabulous. Mine are just lil ole headshots, but I realized that before I could even show up, I badly needed to go shopping, get a haircut and spend a full five minutes on my makeup! I am a full-time homeschooling mama and freelance writer who blows off steam by reading, journaling and cooking--largely indoor, family-friendly activities. Headshots threw me off-guard! It was good for me, a reminder that I need to make more time for this kind of stuff in my life.

My neighbor is a professional photographer. She is very knowledgeable about her field and terribly pleasant to work with. She is very networked in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, and takes all manner of pictures--headshots, senior pictures, family, weddings. I particularly like her pictures in natural natural surroundings. Consider her if you need pictures!
